Rockets are 12-0

Published by NO under Sports

Oscars? What Oscars? I was busy watching the Rockets shoot lights out in Houston, I don’t know about you. By the way, if you don’t have HD I feel sorry for you and promise you, seeing that fat guy’s nipples in the Amp’d commercial is amazing.

Anyways, the Rockets played a hell of a game in the second half. They were 13-24 from three, and shot 50% overall against a bad Bulls team. I know, there’s not too much to brag about there, but what I did see from the Rockets is that they’re are a truly balanced team. Seven players scored in double figures on a night when Yao struggled (he showed some of his past weakness against small, quick defenders). T-Mac continued to play hard and Bobby Jackson played like he’s been with us all season. That guy is still quick, can play some defense, and knows exactly where to be in this system…this trade may have rejuvenated him a bit. Another thing to note is that Rafer’s minutes were down tonight, presumably because of his six turnovers, and we didn’t miss a beat with Bobby at…

Chipotle…You’re Killing Me!!!

Published by NO under Finance

I have a dilemma…I recently invested a considerable amount into Chipotle (CMG) and am second guessing myself already. Maybe I’m a little shortsighted in this situation, but I’ll go on.

So, my basis for investing in Chipotle was based on my investment in McDonald’s (MCD) earlier this month. I got in at around $50 and got out at $56 a little over a week later. McDonald’s was down from $63 in early December and was definitely oversold.

mcdonalds

It was below it’s bottom Bollinger Band and its OBV, RSI, and stochastics all suggested it was significantly oversold. McDonald’s had dropped so much because they reported slightly lower than expected earning for Q4 of ‘07 and of course, the market overreacted. McDonald’s blamed it on the weather, then predictions came out saying McDonald’s expected higher earnings for Q1 and big growth overseas. By the way, stocks like McDonald’s and Wal-Mart are good stocks to hold this year during the recession, that’s right, I said it.

Now, Chipotle is in a similar situation. It’s down from $160 in early December to about $100. Chipotle also reported low earnings, but doesn’t have support overseas, and hits more upper-income demographics…

Korean Cartoons are the bomb.

Published by UltraYeah under Comics

I came across these hilarious hilarious korean comics. I believe the artist’s name is Yang Young-Soon. The style of these comics are really unique and they all posses a Korean flavor. Nothing puts a smile on your face better than crude comics :) .

Moment of Truth

Published by NO under TV

All I have to say is you have to watch this TV show…it’s on Mondays at 8 ET on Fox. It’s a show where contestants are asked personal questions, usually damaging to themselves and their loved ones after they take a polygraph test, and they get more money as they answer progressively more damaging questions. I love how entertaining it is to watch a person’s life deteriorate in the pursuit for money :).

THAT Was a Playoff Game

Published by NO under Sports

So it’s been a couple days since I’ve posted something, but I’ve been behind on some reading and had to study for a couple tests. ANYWAYS, lets get started…

stress

So the Rockets’ effort on Friday was simply outstanding. In the 10 years or so that the Rockets have consumed my life I’ve never seen them work so hard for the ball, play tough defense, and pass the ball so fluidly on offense. We came into a hostile Hornets sell-out arena on a back-to-back night against a team that has been feasting on the top teams of the west like Charles Barkley at a donut buffet. The Hornets had been averaging a 20-point margin of victory in their last eight home games and were playing smooth as butter.

I told you how T-Mac would come to play in the playoffs, and he gave us a taste of that last night. From tip-off Mcgrady had an obvious swagger and you knew he was gonna kick some ass. Yao had a normal Yao night and Landry and Scola couldn’t be kept off the boards.

Rafer Alston, on a…

Websites are HARD work and Time Consuming

Published by UltraYeah under Computer Lingo

I woke up at 12pm and worked on my website until 12am.

So what exactly did I do? First, I had to resolve the Dynamic Name System for my domain: NS1.dailyyeah.com, NS2.dailyyeah.com. This basically is like a internet phone book for domains. This took about a year, literally. It took so long because if you change the nameserver, if you already have a domain, it takes the internet ages to recognize it. It has to tell every server that your domain address changed. Some servers might even have your old address. Overall this step take 24-48 hours. Talk about PAIN.

Secondly, I had to migrate my old Wordpress: I had to take all the MySQL database and all the files. All the posts and instructions on how to use the physical files(like themes), are in the mysql file; everything else is in the physical files, that you can grab via FTP(file transfer protocol). This step took another year. Why? Cause my upload speed is ridiculously slow and I messed up several times, so I had to upload it more than once.

Finally, I had to get the whole thing to work. I hated this…

Mac is Whack

Published by NO under Tech

So I was browsing the Internet and found a recent study by Mindset Media contrasting Mac and PC users.

First off, let me rant about Mac. It is expensive. It troubles me to think that people will pay the outrageous prices they do for an Apple computer. The MacBook, the bottom-feeder of Apple computers, starts at $1099 and is certainly nothing special. However, if you do want to upgrade it’s poor specs, you will pay prices that make me sick. Want an extra gig of ram? $150. Three gigs of ram? An astounding $850!! I have four gigs of ram in my desktop, and if i remember, i paid $60 dollars for two good gigs of ram. Steve Jobs then decided to create the Macbook Air. I admit that the Air is incredibly thin. BUT, the price is outrageous for the product. The Air starts at a measly $1799 and the upgrade, which only gives you .2 GHz of extra speed and less HD space at only 64 gigs, will cost you $3098…WHAT A DEAL!! The Air comes with either a 1.6 or 1.8 GHz processor-very slow at best. Not only are their computers overpriced, but Apple TV, iPhone, ipod…the list…

IMDb=NO

Published by NO under Rant

Many people I know praise IMDb and judge every movie that comes out based on the hailed IMDb user ratings. But I can’t stand the site, unless of course I’m looking up trivia to the Fresh Prince of Bellaire :).

I recently looked up the movie Vantage Point (I was desperate to get a taste of my beloved butter-dosed movie theater popcorn) because it did look like a fairly exciting movie. I first went to the GREAT IMDb…There I saw a rating of 7.2. That’s a pretty good rating, and on a weekend that consists of Jumper, Fool’s Gold, and Step Up 2, I decided Vantage Point may be the movie for me.

Now, although I usually don’t go to RottenTomatoes.com second, I did this time, and was completely turned off to the movie. RottenTomatoes gave the movie a rating of 33%! For comparison, Step Up 2 got a rating of 27%…So why am I…

GAME OVER

Published by NO under Sports

End the season now!! Start the playoffs!! The Houston Rockets have declared GAME OVER for the rest of the NBA. On Thursday the Rockets completed two deals, ridding of Gawen DeAngelo “Bonzi” Wells, Kirk the bench Snyder, and Mike James (who played more golf than basketball).

Not only were they able to rid of the three stooges, but brought in the GREAT Bobby Jackson and the cupcake-blowing-while-dunking hometown STUD Gerald Green!!OK, I know they were not the most mind-blowing or fan-friendly trades, but they were nonetheless SMART.

smart cat

As much as fans want progress now and could care less about the future, this trade will do a great deal of help to the Rockets in the future. This summer we will have the money to go after someone who can really help us. As much of a homer as I am, I have to look at this trade through the statistical genius of Daryl Morey. Statistically, the chances of the Rockets actually winning the championship this year are slim to none. The west has never been this good, and if we some how do…

Meet Edison Chen. The Paris Hilton of the East.

Published by UltraYeah under News

I’m sure all of you guys have heard of Paris Hilton’s sex scandal, but that’s pure flattery compared to what this guy, Edison Chen, has done.

So you haven’t heard of Edison Chen? You’re in the minority! Chen is only one of the most famous Chinese Actors in this decade.

Edison Chen

Wait what’s the big deal about him? Well he’s been in several Chinese blockbuster movies in the past few years such as Initial D and Dog bite Dog. Even if you don’t know his name odds are more than 1.3 billion people in the world do! He was definitely a role model for China: He has done many ads for prestigious companies such as Manhattan Platinum credit card. Chen really had a career going; only at age 27, he could have been in the entertainment industry for 30+ more years! He is even his own CEO of this company Clot Media Division Limited. So pretty much, he had his sails set to the land of “Make-A-Lot Of Money”.

We get it, he’s a big A-list Star in China, whats the controversy? Oh, only that while having sex with 7+ female celebrities, he…
