Welcome to the Internet

The Internet

The internet is a place where anybody can be whoever they want; it’s where dreams are fulfilled and fortunes made. But on the internet, it’s so easy to lie and be somebody else: You’re just one keystroke away from being a billionaire, and one copy and paste away from being a model. Never could afford a Ferrari? Don’t worry, just pretend on the internet you own one. On here, that’s almost as good as the real thing. The fact is, you can’t really trust what a lot of people say online: There are more liars than honest people, because lying is a whole lot easier. For instance, I outsourced data entry work to a guy from the Philippines. He said he used all the money to fix his village orphans’ homes, so I was more sympathetic toward him and gave him more money. Well apparently, he outsourced the work I gave to him to another person, who was a big asshole. That person ruined my creditability’s by putting profanity and nonsense into the data. When I confronted the person, I originally gave the work too, he said he was on vacation and would return soon. What happened? I never heard from him again. It’s really difficult to find a honest person online, especially if he/she is going to work for you.

When you think of the internet what comes to mind? For me four words describe the internet: Free, Porn, and Money. I want to say that 90% of the sites online are useless, and are run by people that’ll try to get your money any means possible: They will Lie, Cheat, and Steal. You see all these spam advertisement, about getting rich quick, but none of them will deliver: They are just there to take your money, and make themselves richer. Although, 90% of the internet is garbage the remaining 10% is absolutely amazing! Companies like Amazon, Facebook and Skype, help us get the best deals, network, and talk to one another without a fee. These business actually bring value to the internet, and make it worth using: You can think of the internet as a giant desert with a few oasis’s.

I’m ranting today about this, because I’m sick of people being total hypocrites online. Yesterday, I saw this guy’s website and he was dedicated to making the internet a better place, by incorporating a special link . But on his personal blog, he didn’t even have that link; how are people suppose to follow his advice, if he can’t even do it himself? Argh, things like that really make me furious.
