Frustrated with the Court System.

I have to do a research paper for my business law class. It requires me to attend a court hearing and identify a legal issue. The paper has to be 4-10 pages long, so I have to find a case with substantial legal substance to write about. Apparently, I went to the wrong court two different times. The first time, there were no hearings that took place and the second time the only cases were traffic violations. Even with my amazing bullshit skills, there would be no way for me to write 10 pages about running a stop sign. It turns out today that I’ve been going to the smallest courthouse in Austin. I really feel like I’ve wasted so much time, and I haven’t even started the research yet!
I made the mistake of going to the wrong court, because of two reasons. First being, the County Court’s website is so hard to navigate that I’d be better off reading a phone book. Second reason is that I didn’t take the initiative to find the right court myself: I relied on my partner’s knowledge of courthouses, and subsequently wasted my time.
I really noticed that state government employees are very unfriendly people. It’s not only the people that work in the Courts, but also people that work in other branches of the government, such as the controllers office. There is definitely something wrong their attitudes: I’ve called several times, and the majority of the people I spoke with gave me an attitude. They acted like I was trying to solicit credit cards and they’re doing me some huge favor by listening. Geez, all I wanted to know is where you’re located! I really hate those people, and I’m glad their on government subsidized wages: They don’t make much money, and I hope they never do because of their condescending tones. This really pissed me off.
Another thing that gets me worked up is how the Court System works; There is neither a set schedule for when a court will stop for the day, nor is there a schedule of what cases are going to happen. I’ve called many times, and they each told me different stories; some operators will tell me there are specific cases, but others will tell me I would have to show up. However, all of the people I’ve talked too have said, you can only know whats going to happen by showing up. Listen, I’m busy; I’m a full-time student and also part time webmaster, I don’t have time to play the guessing game with the courts. This system is really inefficient; nobody knows what’s going to happen, but it’ll just happen. Go Judiciary System!
Ranting about this really made me feel a little better: Now at least a few people know how government employees disrespect people, and how inefficient the court system is.
Yeah.
