Things I Hate v.ATT

Published by UltraYeah at 9:44 pm under Rant, Tech

ATT

ATT is without a question the worst service ever. They have an incompetent service staff and the most annoying automated voice message system. It usually takes me 20 minutes to pay a bill, which is absurd. They have so many different phone numbers and all of them lead to the same stupid voice system. I called tonight to try to pay my freaking bill over the automated message phone, but it wouldn’t let me: I was directed to the billing department and it was closed. Then I called to try to speak to a live person and that took almost 20 minutes. The representative was really rude and extremely unhelpful. I asked for the direct number to pay a bill and she couldn’t find it. GREAT, you work at ATT and you don’t know their numbers. It turns out you can’t pay your bill over the phone unless the business offices are open. I don’t get it because you pay over an automated system, why would it matter if it was during business hours or not.

I’m really fed up with ATT. If you want the worst service possible- my parent’s ATT service is always broken- or just want horrible support, ATT might be the right choice for you. Apparently, their network is so large they don’t need to care about customers. When I signed up last year, I bought the modem because there was a rebate on it. After persistent inquiries about my rebate, I got the it four months later. After this year I’m definitely cutting my ATT DSL service and getting RoadRunner cable. Although, their pricing is competitive, I rather pay more for better customer support.

This is absolutely ridiculous. I’m so angry right now that my eye is twitching.

DON’T GET ATT, YOU WILL REGRET THEIR SERVICE.
YEAH.

I agree completely!! I attempted to switch from a phone and dsl account to a dsl only account in Dec.’08. They succeeded in shutting of the phone, but my new dsl only line was never properly set up. After 10 days and talking to 13 different completely unhelpful people, 4 of which told me everything was working or that it would be working by 5:00 the next day, I decided to switch to Road Runner (which ended up being cheaper anyway). Just when I thought I was rid of them, I got a bill for the service I never received. I called and they told me to disregard it. I did. A month later, I got a letter saying I owed them the money from the bill I was told to throw away. I called again and 3 people in different departments later, I was told that some other department apparently didn’t know I wasn’t supposed to be charged and they sent the letter. Again, I was told that I owed nothing and that I should disregard that letter and everything was clear. I’m clear right? Flash forward 2 months to today when I received a COLLECTIONS LETTER!!! Of course the headaches don’t end there. Yet another call to some billing department that tells me I have to talk to some other department (their favorite excuse). He says he’ll transfer me. An hour and a half later, I FINALLY talk to someone who tells me that I need to talk to some OTHER department. A department that is of course closed (which is often the case). Now I get to take time out of my day tomorrow, during normal business hours, to try and get this resolved.

Please cancel any service you have with this horrible, inefficient company.

AT&Ts pricing just illustrates what crooks they are. All of their plans are BAD VALUE TO THE CONSUMER. When I called to express concern, the sales rep laughed at me and told me I was crazy if I thought what I thought. He even went so far as to say that not one person has called in with the same concern and I’m the first and only person who feels that way. I told him thank you, hung up, called the Better Business Bureau, reported AT&T and then cancelled my account. I couldn’t be happier being back at Verizon.
