Size 16 Teen Finalist for Miss England

Published by NO at 9:24 pm under News

This is a pretty cool story and real surprising. A 17-year old Chloe Marshall is a finalist for Miss England and will compete to win this July.

She is an unprecedented size 16 beating out size 0 models in a beauty contest-and she does is confidently. While most have been positive, a few have put her down for promoting obesity.  The fact is that at 5 ft. 10 in. and 125 lbs she is hardly overweight and is fighting the dangerous stereotype that a pretty girl must be extremely thin.

    Go girl!!! You’re beautifull!

Who or what defines “skinny” and “obese”? Who made it their right to decide what is fat and what is thin? All things in moderation. You are just fine the way you are. Don’t pick up a gram, and don’t drop any. Just enjoy life, and be good to everything and everyone.

    You’ll be o.k!

No way in HELL is she 5′10 and 125. That would put her BMI at 17.9, and as I recall, your BMI has to be 18 to be a model on the catwalk now.

I think she looks great, and I think she is a good thing for larger women out there, but why be proud to be a larger woman, then lie about your weight? Other size 16, 5′10 girls could read this, and because they are say, 180lbs (which I think she is closer to) they may think they have to get down to 125, as that is a ‘healthy’ weight, it’s REALLY not for a 5′10 17 year old girl.

There isn’t any way that she is 125 lbs. My mom and I are the same height. I have the figure of Chloe Marshall, a size 16/18, but I weigh 200 lbs (and this is me being 5′1 tall). My mom is 120 lbs. She wears about a size 6 or so. My guess is that you didn’t read properly, and that that’s her weight in the English system, or in kilograms, which would put her at an appropriate 275 lbs.
