Fitness tips

Published by UltraYeah at 8:16 pm under Fitness, Sports

Since this is my first post for this blog, I thought I’d talk to you about something I know very well: fitness. I see a lot of amateur athletes who have no idea what they’re doing, and end up wondering why they aren’t seeing results. Here are a few tips that are vital to the success of any exercise program:

- Knowledge: You have to know what you’re doing if you want to do it right. There are always people at theSwoll gym lifting weights with terrible form, and unless you have correct form, you will just waste time and yield no results. Do your research, talk to people with experience, and understand what you’re doing before you do it.

- Diet: Diet is just as important, if not more important, than the actual exercise. If you are trying to bulk up, you MUST eat more than you expend, or it is physically impossible to get any bigger. If you are trying to slim down, you MUST eat less than you expend; all the cardio in the world won’t help you if you don’t follow this simple rule. You also want to stay away from the majority of supplements on the market - believe it or not, they are businesses, and they want to make money. They don’t care if you actually get stronger or lose the weight you wanted to lose, as long as you keep buying their product. It is much better to stick to real foods like chicken, nuts, fish, milk, yogurt, fruits, vegetables, beef, lamb, and salad.

- Consistency: Working out once or twice a week won’t help you at all. Working out every day for a week, skipping a couple weeks, and then working out 4 or 5 days the next week won’t help you at all. You have to be consistent, just like anything else. I have a 6 day workout plan, and I almost never miss a day because if I skip, I have to rearrange the rest of the days to make up for it. Having a plan helps motivate you to do what you need to do, and it makes it part of your daily routine, rather than just something you do for fun when you have time.

- Working hard: The reason a lot of people fail is that they don’t push themselves. They go to the gym every day but they spend most of their time there talking to friends and messing around. They stop at 6 reps when they could ave done 12. They go running but they don’t sweat. What’s the point of that? It’s a total waste of time and they’re just taking up space that real athletes could be using. Push yourself as hard as you can every time you workout, and you’ll see much better results.
