This is How You Know You’re in Texas

Published by NO at 6:14 pm under Rant

I’ve been e-mailing business around Austin for the past couple days for a business project I’m doing and here’s the response I got from the Albany Chamber of Commerce:

“Thank you for your invitation. Unfortunately we are getting ready to take the Fort Griffin Fandangle to the LBJ Ranch and are pretty well booked up during that time. Good luch with your fair.”

What is the Fort Griffin Fandangle? It’s an outdoor musical based on the pioneers of West Texas and includes cowboys driving a trail herd, a stagecoach chased by Indians, and buffalo hunters and gamblers.

Now I understand why some people up north think we all ride horses and wear cowboy boots. Doesn’t the Albany Chamber of Commerce have something better to do?!

What was your question that prompted the response? I run the Fandangle office, so, I would love to know the question!
    Thanks!

Oh, I believe my roommate, “NO”, is looking for people to attend some business fair. But unfortunately it’s already over.

OK-well, Albany (population 1,963) is 6 hours away from Austin-so it would have been a very difficult opportunity. Please e-mail us info the next time there is a fair! Tell your roommate we are sorry we couldn’t make it.
