One of the best things you can do is learn a new language, and Livemocha.com makes it very easy. Livemocha is basically a social networking language site. It has great courses you can take, which are basically copied from the famous Rosetta Stone language program, and help you learn very fast.

But then it also has the social networking side, where you can IM with people across the world. It is so interesting to talk with people across the world in different languages, especially when you two are trying to learn the other person’s native language. I have had some very interesting conversations with people about their lives in different countries and it has supplemented my coursework on the website as well.
