Frustrated with the Court System.

Published by UltraYeah under Rant

Austin Capital

I have to do a research paper for my business law class. It requires me to attend a court hearing and identify a legal issue. The paper has to be 4-10 pages long, so I have to find a case with substantial legal substance to write about. Apparently, I went to the wrong court two different times. The first time, there were no hearings that took place and the second time the only cases were traffic violations. Even with my amazing bullshit skills, there would be no way for me to write 10 pages about running a stop sign. It turns out today that I’ve been going to the smallest courthouse in Austin. I really feel like I’ve wasted so much time, and I haven’t even started the research yet!

I made the mistake of going to the wrong court, because of two reasons. First being, the County Court’s website is so hard to navigate that I’d be better off reading a phone book. Second reason is that I didn’t take the initiative to find the right court myself: I relied on my partner’s knowledge of courthouses, and subsequently wasted my time.

I really noticed that state government employees are very unfriendly people. It’s not only the people that work in the Courts, but also people that work in other branches of the government, such as the controllers office. There is definitely something wrong their attitudes: I’ve called several times, and the majority of the people I spoke with gave me an attitude. They acted like I was trying to solicit credit cards and they’re doing me some huge favor by listening. Geez, all I wanted to know is where you’re located! I really hate those people, and I’m glad their on government subsidized wages: They don’t make much money, and I hope they never do because of their condescending tones. This really pissed me off.

Another thing that gets me worked up is how the Court System works; There is neither a set schedule for when a court will stop for the day, nor is there a schedule of what cases are going to happen. I’ve called many times, and they each told me different stories; some operators will tell me there are specific cases, but others will tell me I would have to show up. However, all of the people I’ve talked too have said, you can only know whats going to happen by showing up. Listen, I’m busy; I’m a full-time student and also part time webmaster, I don’t have time to play the guessing game with the courts. This system is really inefficient; nobody knows what’s going to happen, but it’ll just happen. Go Judiciary System!

Ranting about this really made me feel a little better: Now at least a few people know how government employees disrespect people, and how inefficient the court system is.

Karaoking Fun.

Published by UltraYeah under Rant

 Karaoking

A few weeks ago, I went karaoking for the first time and I absolutely loved it. I’m the type of person that likes to sing songs everywhere, so it wasn’t much change when I got a mic.  From what I’ve heard, karaoking is an Asian thing. Well, I want to tear down that stereotype and get everybody involved. Karaoking really builds confidence: What better way to break the ice, than singing in front of a crowd? Also, it’s an activity that people of all ages can be involved with. If you haven’t tried karaoking yet, I really encourage you to bring some friends to experience it; time will fly by, because ya’ll will be having a ball.

Karaoke was so fun, that I decided I want to start a karaoke bar. I definitely have to plan everything out before I know for sure. But right now I’m pretty excited thinking about the potential. The location will be on the street closest to my school; that’s my major selling point, convenience for the everyday student to karaoke! I know the rent will be insanely high, but I think I still can make a profit or break even the first year. Since I’m in business school, I have the opportunity to review everything with my professors; I’ll get advice from lawyers to accountants, for free!

I’m sitting on a chance to give me some real business experience, doing something I enjoy! I’m hoping everything works out. Stayed tuned for more updates on my Karaoke business.

Blog Progress part1

Published by UltraYeah under Rant

p1.jpg

I started this blog started on the 23th of February; now it’s the 15th of March and I’m getting around 300 unique visitors a day. I don’t have any paid links anywhere, nor have I done pay per click advertising. I’m getting most of traffic from Google organic, because I have over 400 pages indexed: I write about a very broad range of things and Google is showing me love by indexing for those keywords. However, the main key to this success is the feed subscribers and the returning visitors. Thank you guys for making it possible!

Right now I’m making $0 dollars with this blog: The server and various website work cost a lot. I’m also losing money because of the opportunity cost of running this blog: I do PPC marketing and that requires a lot of time. I’m not going to give up though, because I definitely see potential in this blog. Making a blog is like paying for college: At first it’ll cost a lot of money and seem hopeless. But if you keep working hard you’ll eventually recover any lost opportunity cost and have higher potential for earnings .

If you guys were wondering what the costs for this blog are.

Fixed Costs:

  • $65 dollars Virtual Private Server from Liquidweb.

Variable Costs:

  • $150 various outsourcing costs. Banners etc.

Goals for my blog by August:

  • Get enough viewers to put up paid link ads. This profit will help pay for my website and also my rent, which is $950 without utilities!
  • Reach Alexa top 100k
  • 500 Feed Subscribers

Again, thank you guys for reading. Check in soon for some interesting articles and occasional progress reports!

TAG sells $100,000 Shower

Published by NO under Rant

After covering my Audi in silver I decided I needed something else to spend my fortunes on. I found just the thing in TAG’s $100,000 shower. The shower has 18 heads at different streams and pressures based on the point of your body. It was designed by professional shower…people and is supposed to be like a massage. I don’t think I want my shower to put me to sleep before work in the morning. Hey, at least it’s not as bad as the Nintendo Virtual Boy…yeah, I used to have on of those…

Welcome to the Internet

Published by UltraYeah under Rant

The Internet

The internet is a place where anybody can be whoever they want; it’s where dreams are fulfilled and fortunes made. But on the internet, it’s so easy to lie and be somebody else: You’re just one keystroke away from being a billionaire, and one copy and paste away from being a model. Never could afford a Ferrari? Don’t worry, just pretend on the internet you own one. On here, that’s almost as good as the real thing. The fact is, you can’t really trust what a lot of people say online: There are more liars than honest people, because lying is a whole lot easier. For instance, I outsourced data entry work to a guy from the Philippines. He said he used all the money to fix his village orphans’ homes, so I was more sympathetic toward him and gave him more money. Well apparently, he outsourced the work I gave to him to another person, who was a big asshole. That person ruined my creditability’s by putting profanity and nonsense into the data. When I confronted the person, I originally gave the work too, he said he was on vacation and would return soon. What happened? I never heard from him again. It’s really difficult to find a honest person online, especially if he/she is going to work for you.

When you think of the internet what comes to mind? For me four words describe the internet: Free, Porn, and Money. I want to say that 90% of the sites online are useless, and are run by people that’ll try to get your money any means possible: They will Lie, Cheat, and Steal. You see all these spam advertisement, about getting rich quick, but none of them will deliver: They are just there to take your money, and make themselves richer. Although, 90% of the internet is garbage the remaining 10% is absolutely amazing! Companies like Amazon, Facebook and Skype, help us get the best deals, network, and talk to one another without a fee. These business actually bring value to the internet, and make it worth using: You can think of the internet as a giant desert with a few oasis’s.

I’m ranting today about this, because I’m sick of people being total hypocrites online. Yesterday, I saw this guy’s website and he was dedicated to making the internet a better place, by incorporating a special link . But on his personal blog, he didn’t even have that link; how are people suppose to follow his advice, if he can’t even do it himself? Argh, things like that really make me furious.

Soulja Boy Yahhh: A Joke?

Published by NO under Entertainment, Rant

I love hip-hop, from Run DMC to Gangstarr to Tupac to Lil Wayne and everything in between. I listen to it in the car, before I sleep, and while I study. But it just keeps getting worse and worse. I was browsing BET’s 106th & Park’s page to find some new music and started laughing at all the new artist’s names and song titles: “red monkey jeans”, “umma do me”, “dey kno”, Dolla, Shawty Lo…

When you’re reduced to writing a whole song about a brand of jeans something is wrong. I really miss the days when they would actually talk about something, and I always go back to listening to the good old music.

What set off this rant? Soulja Boy’s new music video…I downloaded his album a while back and heard the songs, and had a good laugh. But to see it made to a music video? With 5 million hits on Youtube?! You’ll laugh at first, but this is just a disgrace to a lost art…
