It looks like Apple is finally giving in and subsidizing the new iPhone for just $200. “Apple has accepted that the new iPhone should be subsidised in the US and western Europe by the mobile operators who sell it to consumers, according to people familiar with the matter.” This would be just with a new contract of course. AT&T is gonna get huge business from this and Apple is gonna kill.
I signed up for the Skyfire Mobile Browser months ago and finally got the text message to download it. I am very impressed and absolutely love it! I am no longer strapped down by Internet Explorer on my Sprint Mogul.
The best part about the Skyfire Browser is that it scales the site pages to your screen size. I can now see the entire site at once and zoom in on a certain area, like in the iPhone. The picture is also extremely clear.
It also uses much less memory than IE7. It usually only uses 4% of my phone’s memory, while IE7 could sometimes take 20%. This is a huge difference and my phone no longer lags if I’m online.
The phone now plays videos on any website. Youtube, Break, Google, and even ESPN! I used to have to open a video on Youtube from another video-playing program. Now I can get rid of that program and IE7, making my phone even faster.
Overall Skyfire has an intuitive interface that anyone could easily use, great picture, and drastically saves memory. I’m gonna try…
Apple’s flagship store on 5th avenue in New York, called the Cube, had a line formed outside for no reason. There were more than 60 people in line and most said they didn’t know what they were waiting for. Some thought it was for the new 3G iPhone, which hasn’t come out yet. They were actually just kept waiting outside so that the ever-needy Apple salesman weren’t overworked.
This proves that iPhone owners really are dumber than the average person. They flaunt their iPhones which they don’t even understand how to use correctly and look down on people that don’t spend money on overpriced Apple products. Guess what iPhone owners? Many phones much cheaper than yours are already 3G capable and they didn’t spend an extra $300 for that capability.
The Internet could run out of web addresses by 2011, according to Karine Perset, the author of a report on the future of the Internet. Perset says that 85% of the web addresses that could be used are in use.
The Internet continues to grow exponentially, and with the integration of businesses with the web to market and work around the world, it will only continue. There were more than 1 billion new users in 2007!
Perset says businesses must adopt an updated IP network with almost an unlimited number of domains to help expand services and applications even further. Some companies like Google and Bechtel have upgraded, but most are lagging behind.
This guy seems to be taking advantage of the Global Warming panic (oh no we’re screwed the world is gonna end!). However, this does seem plausible, as domain prices have been skyrocketing lately. What would we do without new names?! Who cares, we got a domain…suckers!
The HTC Touch Diamond has been shown and it looks great. I have an HTC Mogul which has been a great phone, and my sister had the HTC Touch. The original Touch wasn’t so great and was very limited, but the Diamond looks to be very competitive with the iPhone.
Luckily Sprint carries these phones and I might take a serious look at it when it comes out. The interface is graphically stunning and the design is very sexy, particularly the diamond shaped camera on the back. HTC is starting to ball, and if you wanna get this phone and save a lot of money, you can always get the ridiculous Sprint SERO Plan.
BlackBerry 9000 pictures have been released and special members of the media have been able to get their hands ont hem. For all you BlackBerry lovers/iPhone haters, this looks like the phone for you.
This is probably the first BlackBerry that actually looks good. The interface is also completely changed from the simple, cartoonish looking interface. It does look to be very simple to navigate however. I just bought the HTC Mogul a couple months ago, otherwise I might take a look at this one.
