A few months ago I decided to save some money and build my own computer. After a few weeks I had all the pieces and was so excited. The computer was working alright…I could use the Internet and basic apps, but only 1 GB of memory was working and I couldn’t use my vid card. So I thought the RAM was bad and bought some new RAM, but of course that didn’t work. Then I figured the HD was messed up, so I bought a new HD. That didn’t work either…I tried to fix Vista with updates and eventually decided to go back to good old XP.

So I tried to install XP and the computer just wouldn’t work. I have no idea what’s wrong with it, but last week I saw a good deal and took advantage.

Dell was having a $300 off $999 deal, which they have fairly often. I got the Inspiron 530 with the Q6600 (quad-core power :)), a 24″ monitor and the rest pretty basic…I’ll just take some RAM and the vid and sound cards from my failed computer :(.
